The book
celebrates Padraig's extraordinary achievements, in his own words and in the
words of Ireland's
finest sports writers, lavishly illustrated in colour throughout. From his
early days, learning to play at Stackstown GC, his three Walker Cup
appearances as an amateur, to turning pro and the European Tour, right
through to winning the Order of Merit, the Irish Open and the Open itself,
the book paints a stunning portrait of a sporting hero. Click here for more information.

An erratic day for Padraig at the WGC a he makes a wopping seven bogies and
just two birdies to finish the day with a 75. This leaves him at four over
par for the tournament, six under par leads. There is no cut so Padraig
will get a chance to work out his driving from the tee which was sparodic
to say the least. He tees off in round three at 9am locl time with Johnson
Wagner. A first round scorecard that would do justice to Picasso sees
Padraig return to competitive golf with a one under par 69 at the
Bridgestone Invititational. Eight pars, three bogies, a double bogey and to
finish the masterpiece, six birdies made up his card to see him in tied
20th place after round one. Four under par leads. He confessed to hitting
the ball well but struggled with his consistancy on the tough par 70 Firestone
course. He tees off late Friday at 12.26pm local time. Padraig is back on
the USPGA Tour as he chases a first world golf championship win and a third
major in the next two weeks. Since retaining his Open crown he has taken it
easy and is in great form as he trys to move up in the world rankings. This
weeks event is being played at Firestone Country Club which will host the
event for the 8th time this week, it is a very fair and challenging course
and plays to 7,400 yards. Padraig tees off in round one at 8.41am local
time with Darren Clarke and Scott Verplank. Click "more" for a

A final round of one over par 72 gives Padraig a four shot win at the Irish
PGA Championship and the ideal preparation for his defence of his Open
Championship at Royal Birkdale. He was always in command and only a visit
to the water at the last marred an otherwise fine day of golf. He leaves on
Sunday to prepare for the Open next week. Fine second round of three under
par 68 gives Padraig a three shot lead with a one over par total going into
the weekend at the European Club. Out at 5pm the wind and rain abated to
give a lovely evening and Padraig took advantage with some pinpoint iron
shots. He finished in darkness but this means he now will tee off last at
12.40pm Friday with Eamonn Brady. Carnage reigned on day one at the
European Club as wet and windy weather made Irelands
toughest course into a monster. Suffice to say Padraig led the field at
four over par when play was finally abandoned due to fog and the adverse
weather conditions. Half the field will resume play at 7am on Thursday
morning and this will mean that Padraig will not finish his second round as
he was due to tee off last at 2.15pm and will run out of light. Padraig is
in Ireland
this week to defend his Irish PGA Championship at the European Club. This
tournament was instrumental in Padraigs preparation for last years Open
Championship as it is being played on a world renowned links course. He
hopes that four days of competitive play on Pat Ruddys famed European Club
links will sharpen his game for Royal Birkdale next week. He tees off early
on Wednesday in round one at 9.30am with the current Irish club champion,
John Kelly and the defending Order of Merit winner, Mark Staunton. Click
